Traveling adventures!
OK so today was quite the adventure for me.

I got to the airport at 9. And was at my gate at 9:20! LOL My flight wasn't scheduled to leave until 11:20.

The first airplane was so small it totally freaked my panic disorder ass out. It was still a Jet but you know me I don't deal well with being 'trapped'. But once the plane got going there was something amazingly calming about the plane movement. Also the plane was so small that my bigger carry on had to be stowed in the cargo hold. That annoyed me. We got our drinks and I barely finished mine before the plane was descending.

I was a little worried about making my connection in chicago. Especially when I had to wait to get my one carry on. But I made it there in about 10 minutes even with waiting for my carry on. And it was a 45 minute layover. Only had to wait about 10 minutes or so before the plane started boarding. I have to say I didn't mind Chicago at all and don't mind that I'll have a longer layover on the way back (then I can get food! LOL)

So the next plane was much bigger and not very crowded at all. it was nice. Tho this guy across the aisle from me kept looking at me. I THINK he was trying to extremely subtle flirting but who knows. I didn't really care. Again it was a barely get your drink drank situation and then it's time to land.

Toronto was an utter nightmare for me tho. I was actually a little scared. I don't like the way it was set up at all. I was SOOOO lost. The only reason I knew where to go was cause I followed the crowd. Seriously. Got through customs. Got my bags. Found Michael. Didn't put on makeup or change shoes before seeing him. :(

Then we went to find the car rental counter. I think one of the things I didn't like about the airport was the employees seemed to act like everyone ought to know where everything was and what all you were supposed to do. So we got our car and guess what it's a flippin PT Cruiser! I was signed up for a compact and apparently they are!

Well figured out how to get in the car. LOL yeah it wasn't as easy as it seemed. And started to pull out of the parking garage intending to pull over and look at maps and figure out what we needed to do. Well basically I pull out of the parking garage and get on this little airport road and suddenly we're on the flippin interstate!!! AAAHHHH!!!

And of course it's not well marked so we miss our exit/interchange. So I get off at the next exit and we proceed to get thoroughly lost. So we drive around trying to find ourselves and eventually get back on an interstate in rush hour traffic! OMG OMG OMG white knuckled grip on the steeringwheel time! Those of you who know me can imagine me in a BIG city at rush hour.

But at least we were heading in the right direction. About half a hour into this I realize I didn't text my SO's back in DSM to let them know I had arrived and the damn cell was in the VERY back of the car. So we drove the hour or so to kitchener and I'm tired and hungry at this point.

So we went to Swiss Chalet for dinner before coming to his place. LOL that was an interesting experience in cultural differences. It was clearly a family rester aunt but beer was blatantly advertised. Something you sure wouldn't see in the states. And they put lime wedges on the glasses for our diet pepsi's. AND they brought us finger bowls at the end of dinner. This wasn't a super fancy place just a family chicken sit down dinner place.

Then we came back to Michael's and relaxed for a while. Then ran to get an airmattress at Wally World. We were hoping to find a tent but apparently they are sold out now. Michael's looking for some other places now. I am to be meeting some of his friends shortly and then tomorrow we go get our pictures and probably go check out the indian reservation.

I imagine there will be more updates while I'm here but Saturday & Sunday I'm camping. But I hope everyone is having a good time. Love you all!
